DH Networks

DH@SDSU participates in several regional digital humanities networks.

SD|DH

SDSU is the leader of a regional Digital Humanities network, SD|DH, that includes faculty, staff, and graduate students from across San Diego: SDSU, USD, UCSD, CSU San Marcos, Palomar College, Mesa College, and more. We led an NEH supported grant project (2015-16) to implement digital humanities pedagogy across a regional network. Our regional group hosted a major conference, THATCamp:Diving into Digital Humanities (2014), and meets regularly for strategic planning, sharing of resources, and building of a distributed network to foster digital humanities research, teaching, and community-outreach.

DH@CSU

Members of DH@SDSU helped found DH@CSU, the digital humanities consortium that spans the entire California State University (CSU). The DH@CSU Consortium was formed by faculty across the CSU who have research and teaching interests in Digital Humanities, with the goal of fostering a system-wide collaboration of resources and expertise in the many disciplines that contribute to the field. Building on the history of Ethnic Studies at the California State University (CSU) system, the Digital Humanities Consortium works to promote student, faculty, and staff use of digital tools and technologies to center the lived experiences of historically marginalized groups, rethink historical questions and contemporary problems, and create ethical digital futures. We do this by building and sustaining a network that expands opportunities to engage in sustainable interdisciplinary community-centered work, with the ultimate goal of cultivating a more equitable and vibrant California.
